Many people find it difficult to make a will. Coming to terms with our own mortality is a hard thing to do and imagining what will happen to those around us when we are no longer around is an uncomfortable feeling. It may help you to view a will as nothing more than sensible financial planning. We will work closely with you to make a will that reflects your current circumstances and meets your individual objectives. Without a will your estate may not go to whom you want it too.
We can offer advice on a basic will, to more complex wills including Life Interest Trusts (care home fees protection), Discretionary Trusts (similar to a Life Interest Trust but with caveats attached) Inheritance Tax, Business Succession Planning Trusts to vulnerable beneficiaries. Please be aware that nearly everyone will require more than just a basic will especially if you’re a homeowner, a business owner, a family business owner with family members working in the business, with children, with step children, divorced, married, cohabiting or in a civil partnership. It’s a minefield!
